Charles Pruchno, MD, FACP

I have been a practicing nephrologist – a kidney specialist – in the Cedar Rapids area for the past 24 years.

As a kidney specialist, it didn’t take me long to realize that the largest percentage of patients with kidney disease had diabetes. For much of my career I focused an enormous amount of energy learning everything I could about diabetes. I became a local diabetes expert in the Cedar Rapids area, and for years was medical director of the Crawford Diabetes center, and later the Joslin Diabetes center.

I’ve spent several years extensively researching why individuals gain weight, and how to prevent, and how to cure it, and putting that research and knowledge to work helping patients reshape their diet and their lifestyle to lose weight and improve their health.

I’m excited to offer this proven, holistic approach to everyone interested in making real life changes and transitioning to a healthier lifestyle for life.
